Charlotte Davies and Josh Banks contacted us back in the summer of 2019 to arrange time for discussing their wedding flowers. From the start they wanted to go large and have showcase floral arrangements for central focal points.
The initial plan was for Coastal Tents to provide a white sail marquee in the late Spring of 2020, but the Covid-19 Pandemic changed everything, including several postponed wedding dates. A new date was agreed for the Summer of 2021 and it only just made it clear of the National lockdown restrictions at the end of June 2021 - Saturday, 3rd July 2021 was the date and their wedding celebrations at Wurzel Farm, Noss Mayo.
The following video was captured and edited by Phil - A speeded up version of five hours worth of craftsmanship - Coastal Tents provided the wooden ladder and erected it with steel cables between the central wooden frame of the tipi. This allowed us to start creating the floral design. The following are the stages of the building process. Many more hours are additional for example cutting the foliage, buying flowers and conditioning the fresh stock and transporting from the Workshop at Totnes to Noss Mayo.
Stage 1: Friday afternoon - Attach copper mesh through the length of the ladder and lay sustainable moss and secure it with wire.
Stage 2: Start inserting lush, seasonal and mostly local grown foliages
Stage 3: Saturday morning - Install an abundance of white/ivory flowers and flowering foliages.
